News Ticker User Manual

Overview

The News Ticker is a professional widget that displays Bitcoin and cryptocurrency news in a rotating format. It automatically fetches news from RSS feeds and displays them in a clean, broadcast-style format.

Accessing the System

Main Pages:

Managing News Items

Fetching New News

  1. Go to Manage News
  2. Click the "Fetch News" button
  3. Select the number of items to fetch (1-50)
  4. Click "Fetch" to import new articles
  5. New items will appear as "Pending" for approval

Approving News

  1. Review pending news items in the list
  2. Click "Edit" on any item to modify it
  3. Check "Breaking News" if it's urgent news
  4. Click "Save" to approve the item
  5. Approved items will appear in the live ticker

Breaking News

Mark important news as "Breaking News" to give it special treatment:

  • Red border around the ticker widget
  • "BREAKING" badge next to the title
  • Higher visual priority

Ticker Features

Display Information

  • • News title (24px, bold)
  • • News excerpt (16px, truncated to 150 chars)
  • • Source attribution
  • • Timer countdown (30 seconds per news)
  • • Breaking news indicators

Technical Specifications

  • • Dimensions: 736x286 pixels
  • • Border: 2px stroke (red for breaking, green for normal)
  • • Background: Transparent page, black widget
  • • Rotation: 30 seconds per news item
  • • Auto-refresh: Every 30 seconds

Configuration Settings

Sponsored Image

Add a sponsored logo that appears in the top-right corner of the ticker:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Enter the URL of your sponsored image
  3. Enable/disable the sponsored image display
  4. Save changes

Ticker Settings

Configure ticker behavior and appearance:

  • Speed: Adjust rotation speed (currently 30 seconds)
  • Direction: Set text direction (left-to-right)
  • Sponsored Image: Toggle sponsored logo display

Content Management

  • Review all news before approving
  • Use "Breaking News" sparingly for truly urgent stories
  • Keep news titles concise and clear
  • Regularly fetch new content to keep ticker fresh
  • Monitor the live ticker to ensure quality

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

No news appearing in ticker

Solution: Fetch new news and approve items

Sponsored image not showing

Solution: Check image URL and enable in settings
